Time to take the 24 hour rest and recouperate!

Aliy was the first into Tacotna last night around 11 our time, where she declared her 24 hour rest, and then immediately asked for some Advil.  Her hip took a beating on numerous flips on the rough trail.  Buser will be coming off his 24 this morning and will sling shot past many of the Teams as they sleep off their 24 hour rest.  The question becomes, after the front pack comes off their 24, will they slingshot by Buser, or will the 4.5 hour lead he made on them with the monster run in the beginning of the race be enough to hold them back. It all depends on how Busers Team performs....will the 24 hour rest rejuvenate them enough from their long haul to Nikolai?  Petit has blown past Tacotna and is resting in Ophir at this time.  It's unclear if he has declared his 24 hour rest there or if he will make the trek to Cripple for the halfway prize of gold nuggets?  And what about Sonny Lindner and Jeff King?  When I went to bed I thought they declared their 24 hour rest in Tacotna, but according to the GPS and stats they both left Tacotna after resting just 2 hours...perhaps they have their sights on the halfway prize?  But all these Teams....King, Lindner and Petit MUST also stop for 24 hours somewhere between here and the Yukon.  It's interesting to note that last years champ Mitch Seavey is posting the fastest times between checkpoints at this time. Aliy Zirkle and Sorlie, our Norweigen musher is also posting top average speeds into Tacotna.  Both these Teams are taking their 24 hour rest.  Around 11 pm eastern time tonight, Aliy will pull the hook in pursuit of Buser.....followed by the other Teams in the lead pack.  Then, and only then will we see how much of a lead Buser had created with the monster opening run!
