Life Threatening Wind Locks Down Teams

According to the Iditarod Website, the wind is so brutal between Safety and Nome that it is imperative the mushers either seek shelter,mor at least stop for fear of being lost in the storm.  Aliy is reported to be in the Safety Shelter.....while King is holed up on the trail.  He and his team were blown off the trail when Aliy passed him.  She didn't even know he was there.  Information coming out of the official site is sporadic.  They are saying this race is essentially shut down.  I just hope all the teams on the trail choose safety first over trying to win this race.
