Got Snow? Nope!

I can't believe the pictures I have been seeing......sure we expect no snow in the Farewell Burn.....but there may be more miles of dirt trail than snow covered trail in this first third of the race! And there is a fire hazard too....inconceivable!  I'm simply amazed at the lack of snow.....hope there is enough bison around to keep the dogs pulling hard.  Broken sleds are another hazard mushers will have to contend with.  Sebastian Schnuelle is covering the race by snow machine....he reports the glaciers having plenty of rocks and dirt on them for safer traversing for sled dogs.  His machine along with 4 Norweigen sledders (scouting for Sorlie)  had to winch their sleds up the glaciers.  Sorlie broke the seat completely off his sled....King was behind him and may have actually captured it on his go pro camera!  This is a wild ride....hold on!
