As expected, Martin Buser rolled on into Nulato, followed by Sonny Lindner. Sonny declared his mandatory 8 hour rest, and Buser has still not yet left Nulato. It will be interesting to see what Aily does. She was in the exact position in 2012....and just like 2 years ago King was behind her....but unlike 2012 Buser is in the picture right there in Nulato....and he is her nearest competition. In 2012 she stopped at the check point for just a few minutes, then went onward to Kaltag another 40 miles away. She should get into Nulato around 8 pm Alaskan time.....dogs love to run at night, I bet she goes for Kaltag if her dogs are up to the task. In any event, if she does blow through the checkpoint she could always run 3 hours or so and shut them down and camp....or go all the way into Kaltag. However Buser may be ready to roll soon after she arrives....or perhaps he will leave the check point right before she gets there....let the head games begin!!
I know one thing for sure....I ain't going to bed quite yet!!
