Rounding out the Top 11 as of Sat Morning

So, we know Aliy is out in front and has a little over an hour lead over Busers leave time from the Kaltag Checkpoint.  Aliy is right now in 1st place with the "traditional" strategy, and Martin Buser is in 2nd place with the new monster opening run strategy.....but it has done him well.  If Aliy rests he will no doubt leap frog over her on his way to Unalakleet.  Then we have Burmiester poised to leave Kaltag at a time of his choosing since he has completed his mandatory 8 hour rest.  Petit is next en route to Kaltag traveling 9.3 mph at this time down the Yukon, followed by the Norweigen Robert Sorlie.  Further back closer to Nulato is Jeff King fresh off his 8 hour rest followed then by the Dentist Kelly Maixiner and last years champ Mitch Seavey.  Another hot shot Norweigen Joar Ulsom is barreling down the Yukon out of Nulato, followed closely by Hugh Neff.  Hugh has a small team of 8 right now.....so he must be careful.....and the team with the most dogs is Sorlie with15 in harness.

I did skip over Dallas, who is stuck in Kaltag doing his mandatory 8 hour rest....physically he reached Kaltag in 3rd place but as you can see that was just a facade since he had to stop for 8 hours.  While he has to rest, the other Teams rounding out the order will continue to pass him.

Hang with me.....there really is no more "math" to do with all the mandatory rests accounted for...so we can now compare apples to apples from here on out!
