Aliy still out in front by about 4 miles. King follows....Buser and Sonny are just getting out onto the ice now. Dallas and Burmiester have left Shaktoolik....only 3.5 miles separate the first 6 mushers out of Shaktoolik. This is one nail biter of a race!
Lol....bet King will be sleeping with one eye open. This stretch coming up is where Lance Mackey in 2008 faked setting up for a long stay at a checkpoint, and then when he heard King snoring he slipped out and ended up winning the race! I don't expect Aliy to pull any old school schemes....but it's got to haunt King to this day!
Ok...time to break out my full on Aliy Zirkle support.....C'mon Aliy.......you can do this.....Quito, her leader is a fantastic dog....smart, athletic, ambitious and deserving of a win....just like Aliy!
