Awesome!! Aliy and the Red Team are the first into Unalakleet on the coast!! She gets $2,500 in gold nuggets and some good rest! I believe our Sponsor Dog got dropped back in Nulato because we don't see him in the pictures...but that means he raced 582 miles and that is definitely a contribution to the Team.
Next in will be Buser, then Sonny Lindner because Nick Petit pulled into Old Woman Cabin to rest.....so look for him to possibly leap frog into the lead later tonight if the front runners in Unalakleet stay put. King, Burmiester and Sorlie will be passing by the resting Petit soon.....along with a string of other high caliber mushers such as both Seaveys (they seem to be traveling together), Redington, Maixner and Neff. Seriously, they are literally lined up on the trail leading from Kaltag to Unalakleet. This next 300 miles to the finish to Nome is going to be very interesting! Typically, Teams that have been holding in reserve are going to put the foot on the gas now....but it seems like the gas has been floored all along! They are predicting we will have a winner by 10 am on Tuesday!!
