Here we go!! Buser is in front....not posting as fast run times but still holding a lead over Aliy, Sorlie and Petit! Sorlie and Petit are still resting in Galena when Aliy completed her mandatory rest and took to the trail! The way I see it, Buser is running in first place, followed by Aliy and then the resting teams of Petit and Sorlie back in Galena. These are the only ones in the front 9 who have taken both their 8 hour and 24 hour rests. Mitch, Sonny, Dallas, King and Burmiester have yet to take their 8 hour rest on the Yukon.....so I'm not putting them in contention right now. Once they take that 8 hour rest they can be added to the bushel of apples for comparison! For some reason the pundants on Iditarod.com are really giving a nod to Sonny, King and Burmeister....probably because they see the power in the Teams....I only have stats to look at, and it's hard to give any nod to these 3 until they take their rest.
It's going to be a long night for us Armchair Mushers!
