Aliy Still in Lead to Kaltag!
GPS shows Aliy holding her 9 mile lead on the 90 mile trek from the Yukon river Village of Kaltag, to the Bering Seas Coast checkpoint of Unalakleet. Baker has been passed by Aaron Burmiester, and Dallas and Mitch are riding together behind them...the chasers are all in a very tight group. Remember....Aliy has more rest than the chasers got, and right now she is just over halfway to Kaltag. Lets hope she can maintain the lead. Burmiester is making a move...one of which has been calculated from way back. For the entire race, he has held his team to no faster than 8.5 mph....they can go under, but no running wide open....Dallas may be doing the same. These Teams have a lot in reserve, and it will show on this run and along the coast. Aliy is putting up a good fight, but will her 1 hour lead be enough to sustain a win? Time will tell, with 300 miles of race yet to go!
