Mackey has made the Iditarod Race History Books with 4 straight wins!!! His Team pulled into Nome with his Leader, a female named Maple in the Lead. He stopped just outside of town to congratulate and thank his Team one by one...those dogs are amazing!!! His bold move back on Saturday of cutting rest and making a monster haul to Unalakleet was the tipping point. He put on a 3 hour lead that the chasers (Gatt and King) nipped at, but couldn't seem to over take him. Lance is now the only Iditarod Musher who can claim 4 straight wins...an amazing feat!
I will be logging in the Top 10 as they find their way to Nome. It will be Gatt coming in 2nd and King 3rd. I have 3 Boards to fill for the prized Iditarod Mug...Mackey may get some good sleep tonight, but I still got some work to do!
