Mitch Still In Shaktoolik....Chase Pack is just Approaching

Mitch did the run to Shaktoolik in 4 hours and 36 minutes.  According to some research I did that is the fastest time ever.  Mitch did rest on the trail outside of Unk before he sling shotted around to Shaktoolik, but stilll...that is impressive!

Right now we have the chase pack approaching....the GPS looks like this:

Mitch resting at 758 (Shaktoolik)
Dallas at 756
Joar at 749
Petit at 748
Marrs at 746
Royer with 16 dogs still at 731
Aliy just hit Unk and is resting at mile 718

It will be interesting to see if Mitch leaves right before the Teams pull in.  That is a mind game the Mushers play at this point....the leader likes to be considered a dream....vapor....dont let them see ya.  Its somewhat demoralizing to think you have caught up with the leader, just to have him slip away....with a well rested Team at that!

This is Mitch's race to loose....he has about 50 miles on the lead pack.....with time running out for the chase pack to make a move.  With absolutely no wind in the forecast along the coast.....Mother Nature cant even play into the outcome like in 2014.  Unless Mitch gets lost in the fog, he is in command.
