King Arriving in Iditarod

King is about to arrive in Iditarod behind Mackey and Lindner who are resting there. No details if any of the Teams have declared their 24 hour rest. Mackey advertised he would push on the Anvik, but the trail is slow and the next 45 mile leg on over into Shagaluk has not been traveled much. Might best hunker down in Iditarod and let the fresh teams off their 24 come and break it for you! So we got Mackey, Lindner and now King in Iditarod, and Buser has about 40 miles to go to get to Iditarod. The Teams in Takotna (Burmeister, Aliy and Mitch, etc) are just outside of Ophir and Berkowitz is in Ophir about to finish his 24 hour. He will be allowed to go right about the time the Teams from Tacotna arrive. I doubt any of the Tacotna Teams will stop at Ophir since it was only a short trek over to Ophir from Takotna with well rested Team. It will be a long convoy of Teams soon on their way to Iditarod, nipping at Busers heels and eventually passing the 24 hour resting teams of Mackey, King and Lindner no matter where they end up taking their 24 hour rest. Iditarod.com (see link above) has some great analysis on the race...now with many of the 24 hour rests being checked off its much easier to compare Teams.
