King Leads into Koyukuk!

King just arrived in Koyukuk after a very cold night out on the River.  Temps were reported down below minus 35!  Aliy and Mitch both camped out on the trail...that had to be freaking cold to say the least!  Burmiester also camped out but chose a shelter cabin outside of Koyukuk to hole up in.  The surprise of this run was Dallas...who came off his 24 hour, ran about 30 miles and pulled over to rest some more.  He has done things like this in the past, and it's worked out for him...perhaps it was too cold out on the river and instead of unleashing the power of his team in the frigid cold he decided to rest them to help conserve their energy....he is again on the move.  The rest of chase pack is moving nicely....we have Jessie Royer, Pete Kaiser, Thomas Waerner and Joar Ulsom 12 miles behind Dallas.

I'm sure some of these Teams will blow right through Koyukuk into Nulato.  Look for Burmeister, Aliy and Mitch to stop at one of the next 3 checkpoints to put in their 8 hour mandatory rest.  They are the last of the front runners still in need to take their mandatory 8 hour rest.  My guess it will be served up in Kaltag before the big 90 mile run to the first checkpoint on the coast.
