Dallas leaves towards Nome!

With a soft trail of sugar snow slowing Teams down and wearing them out, Dallas rests up just 4 hours and sets off towards Nome with 11 dogs.  It's a 13 hour run all the way to White Mountain where a mandatory 8 hour rest awaits all the Teams.  Essentially, White Mountain IS in all practicality the first finish line.  The way they come into WM is the order they leave to Nome.  It will be interesting to see who gets up and makes the chase after Dallas.  He has an awesome Team....Jessie's Team came in off the ice kind of sore....not sure if her Team can bounce back on a short break here.  Burmeister may be intrigued to head out since he was only 3 minutes behind Dallas on the way into the checkpoint.  Aliy was cheery and her dogs looked great...she seemed disappointed on her run in....but everyone had a slow run....except for Dallas...his slow is most Mushers average speed....if he can find his medium to fast speed in this sugar snow then watch out!!  He has had the fastest Team on the trail by running short and resting more often...he has paid back rest to his dogs with any gains he accrued in the runs and remained competitive....quite the balancing act.  Dallas is the one to beat....Burmeister may be headed for a wall....and Aliy has her work cut out for her...if anyone can beat Dallas it would be Aliy. If her dogs are up to it she will rise to the occasion!  Time will tell!!

I'm going to set the alarm for a wake up call In a few hours....gonna be a long night!
