King and Buser.....how many times have we seen these 2 battle it out on the trail? When I got my first computer in 2001 it seemed like it was always King and Buser and Swingley....pretty much the whole decade! Now here we are in 2015 watching again as these 2 mushers keep each other in sight, vying for position. King left Ruby first and is presently at mile 381....Buser left Ruby and is presently at mile 355. Both Aliy and Burmeister are in between them but niether of them have taken their 8 hour rest....so King and Buser are "apples to apples" since they have both completed the 8 hour mandatory rest. It is worthy to note both King and Aliy have their full compliment of 16 dogs...whereas Burmeister and Buser are are down to 14 (Burmeister), and 15 (Buser) dogs. The race to Ruby is ON...and as promised, strategies are unfolding! The trail is reported to be hard and fast! Here I am last week at the Banquet meeting these two Mushing icons King (above) and Buser (below)! What a thrill!
