Neff, Baker and Mackey on way to Anvik!

Gatt and Redington have opted to rest a bit in Shag....BUT both Lance and Buser have taken pursuit after Baker and Neff! Mackey came into Shag 2 minutes ahead of Buser....Mackey came in with 9 dogs and left with 9 dogs...Buser came in with 14 and left with 14. Mackey is posting a better average speed than Buser, even though Buser has 5 more dogs in harness....picking up 21 minutes on Buser! Anyhow, its an easy 25 mile run on a good snowmobile trail to Anvik....usually done in 2 to 3 hours. There is a total spread of 40 minutes on the "time out" of Shag between the first to leave (Neff) and the last to leave (Buser). At an average sped of 7 mph, look for them to be ringing the bell in Avik when the first musher arrive on the Yukon around 9:00-9:30!!! POST SCRIPT: Redington sat in Shageluk checkpoint for 17 minutes, then changed his mind and is now off to Anvik along with Neff, Baker, Mackey and Buser! Neff is 13 miles outside of Anvik, with Baker only a few miles back...WHAT A RACE!!!!
